Pipe is
available in many sizes and varying wall thicknesses, in either
black, painted or galvanised finishes.
NOMINAL BORE (N.B)
All the pipes shown have the same outside diameter (OD). Because
of the varying wall thickness the inside diameter is different.
We can save all the confusion by describing the pipe using
NOMINAL BORE and WALL THICKNESS. The first pipe could be ordered
as 25NB Heavy Gal, while the Galtube* Ultra would be ordered
as 25NB Galtube* Ultra.
PIPE STRENGTHS
The most common type of pipe you will use around the farm
will either by mild steel or high strength steel. Modern steel
mill processes allow BHP to produce high strength steel pipe
in lighter wall thus enabling savings to be made.
All tubeline pipe is manufactured by the ERW process providing
a good clean surface finish with close tolerances on dimentions
plus a high tensile strength of up to 350mpa.
When choosing a pipe for a particular application remember
it is not always best to have heavy walled pipe. In many instances
lighter wall higher strength will suffice thus saving you
money.
PIPE FOR THE JOB
Choosing the right pipe for the job will save you time and
money.
